OPI La Paz-itively Hot + My first ever French Manicure

Following on from yesterday's post of OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte, I have the original OPI La Paz-itively Hot.

OPI La Paz-itively Hot - Sunshine

This pink is lighter than the matte version and the shimmer is more subtle. Its almost a bright colour. this was 3 coats, but 2 would have been fine. As per usual the application was great and required no cleaning up afterwards.

I used this colour to create my first ever french manicure. I had brought some of those little french tip sticker guides and used those to do this. The first time I tried it, it didn't work so well, once the stickers were pulled up they had left sticky residue behind on top of the polish. I tried googleing this but google didn't really like searching for "how to stop sticky residue being left behind when using french tip sticker guides". Most of the links I found had french manicures being done on unpolished nails.

This time it seemed to work ok with La Paz-itively Hot as the base colour. I then added a coat of CND (Creative nail design) Glow (#423) to flatten out the black tips.

So in the end I was really pleased with how this turned out.

If you have any tips for doing french manicures over a colour base please let me know. I tried a second one over OPI Dominant jeans (to come in a later post) and when I took the sticker guides off, all the nail polish underneath came off too :(

Its Saturday here, and pouring with rain. I love staying at home in the weekends in my pjamas and not doing anything. Its nice to relax once in a while.

Lots of Love
Lisa

  1. Cute mani! Make sure you take off the guides as soon as you lay down the polish, don't wait until it's dry and make sure your base is 100% dry. I usually wait until the next day or an hour or so before I put the tip on.

  3. You could also try sticking the guides to the back of your hand or something so they arent quite so sticky when you put them on your nails .

    <3 this manicure though :)
