Spotted in NZ: Recent Orly Displays

I spotted these both at Farmers a last week. The Hope and Freedom collection has been out for a while now, while Mash Up is a new release.  I was a bit shocked to see the price of these has gone up to $24.99 now (they used to be $22.99). I tend to only buy Orly from Farmers when they are buy one get one free. Hopefully they will have another one of those sales soon.

row is out of place and not part of this collection)

Spotted in NZ: Orly Feel the Vibe

I spotted the Orly Feel the Vibe collection in Farmers the other day.  Out just in time for summer.  Neons are in all the stores here at the moment and while I am not keen on wearing neon clothing, I definitely do not mind it on my nails.

Melt Your Popsicle, Dayglow, Skinny Dip, Glowstick, Beach Cruiser, After Party

Spotted in NZ: Orly Cool Romance

I spotted the Orly Cool Romance collection at Farmers yesterday.

Orly Cool Romance was released way back in January in North America. We are a little behind, but considering it is a spring collection, the time of year here is suitable.
Left to Right: You're Blushing, Prelude to a Kiss, Jealous, Much?, Faint of Heart,
 Steel your Heart, Artificial Sweetener

Spotted in NZ: Orly Flash Glam FX

Thanks to (the other) Lisa who sent me this picture last week of the Orly Flash Glam Collection in Farmers.
I like to wait until Farmers has a buy one get one free when I buy Orly polishes.  I mean who doesn't like getting stuff for free :).

Orly Stone Cold

My kitten finally decided to vacate my light box, so I was able to capture this photo tonight.  I do my nails a night time and have just put this onto my nails to wear tomorrow.

Orly Stone Cold - Natural Light

Orly Stone Cold - White Light

Stone Cold is from the 2011 Orly Mineral FX collection.  Apparently this collection by Orly contain Flurophlogopites to give them a shimmering colour transformation, glass particles as well as mica, silica and coloured pigments to give them a multi-dimensional effect.  Seems a bit fancy to me, really this is just a pretty sparkly blue polish.  It looks like blue sparkles in a dark blue base.  This swatch is three coats. It applies well and dries in an OK amount of time.  It is actually darker in real life than it appears in this photo. It is more of a deep dark blue that looks really gorgeous.

Orly Frisky

This was my mani for Wednesday and Thursday last week.

Orly Frisky - White light

This is three coats of Orly Frisky with an accent nail which had one coat of Sally Hansen Bling-tastic. Bling-tastic is a teal blue glitter with bigger bits of silver glitter scattered throughout its clear base. This lasted the full two days with out chipping, however even with a base coat Frisky stained my nails a funky yellow colour (I find that turquoise colours are the worst at staining nails).

Hope your all having a great weekend.
Don't forget to enter my nail art Give-away.

Spotted in NZ: Orly Magnetic FX

I spotted the Orly Magnetic FX collection in Farmers yesterday.

There is three polishes in this mini collection.  Opposites attract is a deep blue shimmer with an X shaped magnet, Force Field is a deep plum shimmer with a wavy magnet and Pain on Electron is a charcoal shimmer with a squiggly magnet.

These are retailing for $21.95 each at Farmers

Spotted in NZ: Orly Electronica Collection

Left to right: Preamp, Shockwave, Synchro, Decoded

I haven't been able to find out much information on this collection. The internet says its from Fall 2012.  Its unusual for us here in New Zealand to get a collection before any one else. Our Orly collections are usually 6 months late.

Preamp is a really pretty shimmery pink. Synchro is a red/pink/golden duochrome (the same sort of colours as MAC Bad Fairy, without the glass effect texture). Decoded and Shockwave both have matte finishes.

Orly sells for $22.90 in Farmers but you can often find it on sale for buy one get one free.

I saw a couple of other new collections today as well so will have some more of these posts soon.

Spotted in NZ: Orly French Manicure Kits

I spotted these kits at Farmers today. They are French Manicure kits which include three 9ml polishes and french tip guides.
Kit includes: Top 2 Bottom basecoat and topcoat, White Tips and Oh Cabana Boy nail lacquers,
Chevron and Half Moon guides for French tips and instructions.

Kit includes: Top 2 Bottom basecoat and topcoat, Shine and Witch's Blue nail lacquers,
Chevron and Half Moon guides for French tips and instructions.

Kit includes: Top 2 Bottom basecoat and topcoat, Liquid Metal and Space Cadet nail lacquers,
Chevron and Half Moon guides for French tips and instructions.

These fun twists on French tips are easy to use at home and will leave nails looking like you just left the salon.

I could not find a price tag anywhere around these so I am not sure how much they are retailing for.

Spotted in NZ: Butter London Lippy

From the Butter London Website:

Introducing LIPPY by butter LONDON. LIPPY is a range of long-wearing, lacquer-like lip glosses in shades to match our famous nail lacquers. Like the butter LONDON nail lacquers, LIPPY colours are rich and heavily pigmented for a look that is deliberate, high fashion, and luxe. LIPPY does not contain parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates, or bismuth. If you’re being LIPPY, look the part.

I found these in Farmers today.

Not surprisingly an untouched full display. The Lippy's are NZ$35.95 each and the polishes (as always) are NZ$34.95. I snapped a photo of the price to show you. (for those interested NZ$35 is US$28.50, so a full set of Lippy and Polish would set you back US$58.  This is why I shop online!)

In better news Farmers has Orly in sale for buy one get one free. And OPI is buy 2 get one free.
Also check out the Warehouse for three OPI Shatter polishes for $30, two for $24 and one for $15.  They have all current colours available and massive displays in store of them.

I am hoping to be back to regular blogging with in the next few weeks. I have so much to show you all.

Spotted in NZ: Orly Mineral FX

Thursdays are new display day at Farmers in Wellington. Today the newest collection out in New Zealand is the Mineral FX collection from Orly. These are selling for NZ$24.99. I can not justify $25 for a polish, so even though these are pretty, I passed on them today.

I am still waiting on photos from the wedding. I promise as soon as I have some you ladies will all be the first to see them!

Orly and Valentines Pinks

Left to Right: Passionfruit, Cotton Candy, Forever Crimson, Butterflies

I spotted this the other day in Farmers.
It appears to just be a re-promote of pink polishes for valentines day.
None of these colours are new.

This may be my last post for a wee while. Our wedding is in five days and I have a lot to do. I have one day left of work to make it through and then 11 days off. Wish me luck!

Orly Frolic + Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

I have been on a little bit of an Orly kick lately.

This is Orly Frolic from the 2011 summer Happy Go Lucky collection.

Orly Frolic - Natural Light

This is two coats. Its nice to apply, with a smooth texture. The Happy Go Lucky collection was nice and pigmented so all only needed two coats. This is a great summer nail polish.

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple over Orly Frolic - Natural Light

This is one coat of Chunky Holo Purple over Orly Frolic.

Ok so Im just going to say it. This polish is not holographic, so why did Kleancolor name them so? It is a glitter polish. A iridescent glitter in a light purple base. I just don't get it.

But in saying that its a nice glitter to use on top of other polishes. Kleancolor is not B3F so smell a bit strong. I found this at a Postie Plus store in New Zealand (2 for $8 - super cheap!)

Orly Oui

Orly Oui is a polish I picked up a couple of weeks ago from the Farmers buy one get one free sale (which I am pretty sure is still going)

Oui is from the 2011 Holiday Soireé collection.

Orly Oui- White Light

Orly Oui- White Light

Oui is a light purple glass flecked polish with a gold shimmer running through it. This is three coats. It is actually really pretty, but at the moment polishes are only lasting a day on my nails, as I get bored easily.

7 more work days left till the holidays!!!

Orly Bubbly Bombshell

Bubbly Bombshell was my mani to my Fiances Christmas work do on Saturday night.

Orly Bubbly Bombshell - Natural Light

Orly Bubbly Bombshell - Sunshine

This is a bright pink fuchsia glitter in a clear base. There are actually two sizes of glitter in this, a smallish one and then a bigger rounder one. This is three coats, but its still got quite a bit of nail showing through and tips are really hard to wrap with a glitter polish.

Here is some bonus pictures and a comparison.

Look how it matches the shoes I wore!

Orly Bubbly Bombshell over black - Natural light

Nubar Petunia Sparkle - sunshine

Here is a picture of Nubar Petunia Sparkle for comparison. They are almost exact matches for colour, but Petunia Sparkle only has one sized glitter and has a more matte appearance.

Spotted in NZ: Orly Holiday Soireé

I got an email with a picture from Lisa (the other one) exclaiming that Orly were buy one get one free at Farmers and they had the Holiday Soireé collection in stock.

Orly Holiday Soireé display at Farmers

Luckily we were already heading to the mall so I got to see these for myself in real life. I still had a $30 gift card so picked up Androgynie and Oui. They also come with cute little files attached to the bottles.

Orly retail for $24.99 each, so buy one get one free is a pretty good deal. I can totally justify $12.50 on a nail polish, where as I have problems spending $25 on a polish these days.

Orly Frisky + Comparison

Orly frisky is from the 2011 Happy Go Lucky collection.

Farmers had by one get one free on Orly the other day and I had a $20 voucher so I paid $5 for two Orly polishes :) I love sales and vouchers.

Orly Frisky - Natural Light

The formula on this is great. This is 2 coats, and that it all that is needed. Dries at an average time and wears well.

I did some nail art over the top of Frisky. The Sparkles are Esseence. The first finger is stamped using an Essence plate and China Glaze DV8. Third finger is layered with Color Club Si Vous Please!

Orly Frisky + Nail Art - Sunshine

I ended up wearing Orly Frisky covered in Color Club Si Vous Please! on all fingers to work on Monday.

Orly Frisky and China Glaze For Audrey look pretty close to each other. For Audrey used three coats, compared to Frisky's one coat. For Audrey is slightly lighter and a bit more dustier toned. Frisky is brighter and bluer. I wasn't a fan of For Audrey but I really like Frisky, which is odd considering they are so close to each other.
