Color Club Over the Moon + Comparisons

WE HAD SOME SUN TODAY!!!!!!

Its almost winter here, and pretty unusual for us to have a sunny weekend day at the moment. (Although it is pouring with rain now).  So I figured it was time to swatch some holographic polishes.

Color Club Over the Moon - Sunshine

Color Club Over the Moon - Shade

Over the Moon is the blue holographic polish from the 2013 release of the Color Club Halo Hues. This newer set of 6 polishes, were darker than the first set released.  This is three coats, although two would be fine - I just am obsessive compulsive about doing three coats.  The formula on these are on the thin side, but are easy to apply and dry quickly.  The above photos clearly show the difference that sunlight makes to the appearance of this polish.  In the sunlight it is an awesomely strong holographic rainbow.

Below is a comparison with some of my other blue holographic polishes.
All swatches are three coats.

You can see that in the sunlight the two Color Club holos give the most coverage and are the most opaque of the polishes. Over the Moon is unique amoungst my 100 holographic polishes.

Color Club Halo Hues are available in New Zealand now.

OPI You're Such a BudaPest with Darling Diva Dangerous Driver

OPI You're Such a BudaPest - Sunshine

OPI You're Such a BudaPest is my favourite polish from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is a slightly blue toned creme lilac.  This is three coats that applied beautifully.

Darling Diva Dangerous Driver (over OPI You're Such a BudaPest) - sunshine

This is an amazing combo! A holographic polish that should exist, that I haven't managed to find in real life yet.  Dangerous Driver is not only holographic but also duochromatic and switches from purple to pink in different lights. This is one thin coat of Dangerous Driver over OPI You're Such a BudaPest.

OPI...Eurso Euro with Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy

OPI...Eurso Euro - sunshine

OPI...Eurso Euro is The dark blue crelly (creme/jelly) from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is two coats and I found application very easy.  This is a great formula that glides on smoothly and gives great coverage.   This polish looks quite a bit darker inside in the shade.

This polish is a great base colour for quite a few of my polishes. I am thinking of trying Max Factor Fantasy Fire on top next.  But for the last two days I have been wearing Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy over the top.

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy (over OPI...Eurso Euro)

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy (over OPI...Eurso Euro)

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy is a blue toned purple shimmer with small silver holographic glitter and larger hexagon shaped teal/cyan coloured glitter.  This is one coat over OPI...Eurso Euro.  I did have a few application issues with this. In my bottle the bigger teal bits of glitter have all sunk to the bottom of the bottle, and no matter how much I shake it, I cant seem to get the glitter spread evenly throughout the polish. This mean I did have to go fishing for the bigger bits of glitter. I think this problem may be solved by adding some more stainless steal balls to my bottle.

OPI OY-Another Polish Joke!

We saw a bit of sun here on Saturday so I decide to start swatching my OPI Euro Centrale Collection.  Currently I have 10 out of the 12 polishes from this collection. I am still on the hunt for a reasonably prices Polka.com. The other one I am missing is Hands off my Kielbasa! however, I am not so keen on the colour, but to complete the collection I will probably end up getting it.

OPI OY-Another Polish Joke! - natural light

OPI OY-Another Polish Joke! - shade

This is OY-Another Polish Joke! It is a soft yellow glass effect shimmerey polish. This is three coats by itself. Three coats is needed to build up some opacity. I was suprised how much I like this polish. Yellows are hard to get right, and to look good on multiple skin colours.  This would make a good shimmery topcoat over other polishes as well.

Spotted in NZ: OPI The Bond Girls collection

I spotted these in Farmers last Monday.  The Bond Girls collection is the 2013 bright scollections from OPI. All 6 shades are the new textured liquid sands polishes.

  • Solitaire: This diamond-sparkling white is totally engaging
  • Pussy Galore: This light feminine pink has the purrrfect amount of shimmer
  • Tiffany Case: A classic light blue worth investigating
  • Vesper: A mysterious and intriguing deep purple
  • Honey Ryder: Take a ryde on the wild side in this shimmery gold
  • Jinx: This mesmerizing matte coral has lucky sparkle
Jinx is by far my favourite, but alas was not able to come home with me (unfortunately I am banned from buying any more polishes for the foreseable future).
These are retailing for NZ$26.90 in Famers.

Butter London Dosh

Well daylight savings kicked in here over the weekend, so now its pretty much dark all the time I am not at work. The cold has also kicked in and that means new boot season, which also means sore feet.

Farmers in New Zealand was selling off all their Butter London stock at the start of the year. Yay because they were all only $20. Boo because this means we are most likely not going to get Butter London easily in New Zealand now.

Dosh was one of the polishes I picked up on clearance.

Butter London Dosh - sunshine

This is three coats. Coverage could have been better, as you can still see the nail line underneath here.  It is a shimmery lime/grass green.  I do not love this colour as it makes my hands look red and even though it is green, it will unfortunately be going into my swap pile.
