OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It is the second polish I bought from the Vintage Minnie Mouse collection a few weeks ago.  It is little light pink hearts in a clear base of light pink glitter, that looks similar to a glass effect polish once on the nail.

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It over OPI I'm All Ears - Natural Light

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It over Black - Sunshine

I like the way the pink looks over the black, it shows up more than it does over the pink.  This was two coats over a black creme.

To be honest I found the hearts in this polish very difficult. I had to fish them out of the bottle and try and place them individually on the nail.  The hearts seem to sink to the bottom of the bottle.

OPI I'm All Ears

So in about 5 weeks time I will be at Disneyland! and I am SO EXCITED!!!!! I love Disneyland. I have been once before when I was 23 and I thought it was Amazing. I am a complete Disney nut. I have pretty much every Disney movie on DVD.

So when OPI came out with the Vintage Minnie Mouse collection I had to get them all. I was going to wait until I actually got to Disneyland, but a bad day at work and a sale at Farmers a few weeks ago saw me get two out of the collection.

OPI I'm All Ears - Natural Light

OPI I'm All Ears - Sunshine

This is three coats. I'm All Ears is a cute glass effect polish in a bright medium pinky red colour.  I am surprised I didn't already have something like this in my collection, but it is unique for me.  This is almost like a jelly polish, and is quite see through until you build up the layers.

Here is me in October 2009 at Disneyland with Minnie Mouse

Sally Hansen Lavender Sky

I went to one of those make up sales a few weeks back.  These sales pop up every few months in Wellington so I went along and broke my no buy again.  Often they have Sally Hansen Prism polishes for super cheap. And I got lucky last time, by finding 5 of these, all for only $3 each (that is super super cheap for a nail polish in New Zealand).

Here is one coat of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in Lavender Sky over black.

Sally Hansen Lavender Sky over Black- sunshine

This is a pale blue duochrome, that when layered over black flashes between purple and green (but mostly purple).  It is a super fine shimmer.

It seems that a lot of the polishes I have obtained lately are designed for layering over others. I am quickly running out of black polish to put under all of these pretties.

In other news its now only 11 sleeps until me and my husband head of to America and Canada for 5 weeks. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! I am going to buy so many polishes!!!!  Also stay turned for a giveaway while I am on holiday.

OPI Into The Night

Into the Night is the second polish I bought from OPI's The Amazing Spider-Man Collection.

OPI Into The Night - Natural Light

Into The Night is a dusty navy blue metallic shimmer polish. This is three coats, it was quite runny, and after the first coat looks a horrible grey colour, but the colour built up after three coats.  I quite like this colour as an autumn/winter colour.

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard is one of the many Chanel Peridot dupes available at the moment.  You can also find similar dupes by Color Club, GAP, Jessica, China Glaze and Sally Hansen to name just a few, but this is the only one I have found in New Zealand so far.

Just Spotted the Lizard is from the 2012 Amazing Spider-Man Collection.  It is a golden green teal blue duochrome metallic polish.  This is three coats. Mine was quite runny and because of the metallic-ness of this polish you can still see brush strokes from application once it has dried.  I think this polish and all of its dupes maybe slightly over hyped if I am honest, but it sure is pretty in the bottle though.

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe

I saw some swatches of Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe on Make Up Alley and had to have it straight away. Not only is it a gorgeous polish but its name is awesome. I love Cats and Schrodinger is often mentioned on The Big Bang Theory, which is my favouritest TV show ever (I am crossing all my fingers and toes that we can go to a taping of this show when we are in LA next month.)

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe is designed as a top coat.  It is two different medium sized iridescent glitters that shift from blue to aqua to green in a base full of blue/green shimmery goodness. I layered one coat over two coats of black. Here is a whole bunch of pictures for you to look at....

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe is officially my first indie polish and I am so glad it has turned out to be a good experience.  Cathleen is the maker of Lilacquer polishes which she sells here on Etsy and also at Overall Beauty.  I have heard some not so good stories about indie polishes and their sellers, but took the chance and it turned out well.
