Color Club goodness

From my other Color club post a little while ago you would know how hard it is to find Color Club polish in New Zealand where I live, So I was over the moon when my local pharmacy finally got in three new collections - all at once!
The Dance Musique, Flower Power and Wild at Heart collections.

I was so excited and then slightly saddened when I could only pick a couple of these new polishes to take home. (That's what happens when your a student :S)

Anyways I picked two polishes from the Wild at Heart Collection. This is our fall/winter collection for 2010. Six months later than the Northern hemisphere who had it for their fall/winter at the end of 2009.

This is Rule Breaker (with flash). A dark vampy Shimmer Aqua colour.

And the aptly named Wild at Heart.

With Flash.

Holographic Purple Greatness!!! Very appropriate for the winter weather we are getting here at the moment. This was almost done in one coat, but not thick - It just worked well. :)

Dear Zoya....

Dear Zoya,

I love your polish. I think its great. Kinda hard to get in New Zealand but because I love it so much I don't mind paying lots of money to get it sent here from America.

But I do have one BIG problem with your range,

There is no polish called LISA!!!!!

Its not a strange name. Its not that uncommon. So why is there not a fabulous zoya nail polish called Lisa?

I think there should be one. A bright one! with shimmer. One that can be worn by itself (ie not sheer). And it should sparkle and pop and make me want to wear it everyday. I'm not so worried about what colour it is exactly. Maybe a purple would be nice. But it must be pretty. Bright and not too vampy.

I look forward to seeing a Lisa polish. I'll buy 100 of them.
Thanks for listening.

Thanks
Lisa

Zoya Hayden

Barbie Pink. Its all I can think of to describe this polish.

Barbie pink shimmer.
This was three coats.
Its actually a bit darker than this. Still pretty tho.
I haven't worn many pinks lately but I might start again.

OPI Goin' Ape-ricot!

Orange isn't normally a colour I would buy.
But I did - ages ago infact and I am so glad I did!
This polish is amazing.

The glitter sparkles orange and yellow and gold.

I love it!

Color Club Neons

Color Club is a brand that is really hard to get in New Zealand. Mainly because we are so far behind in the release of collections here. The current collections in shop are Glitter Vixen (out in America in Fall 2008) and Electro Candy (from Summer 2009). The New Zealand Winter Collections - about to be released, are going to be Wild at heart (Fall 2009) and Dance Musique (Fall 08). So you can see how far behind we are here. I also only know of a couple of shops stocking color club and they all have really little tiny displays.

Also in case you were wondering in New Zealand we spell Color as Colour. Typing just Color freaks me out and seems so wrong.

Anyway I bought two of the Color Club neons from my local shop.

This is Power Play.

And Power Play with the flash on.

This is Screamin' Fucshia.
I didn't use the flash here as it looks more colour accurate without it.

I found both of these polishes extremely runny. Dipping the brush in the bottle once and being able to cover a whole hand worth of nails. Both of these were 3 coats and you could still see a visible nail line, so a white coat underneath would have helped and it would have increased the neon-ness a bit more of the colours. Like most neons these also dry matte, So a top coat can fix that and make them shinny again.

Thanks for reading

Miki Nail Polish

Hope everyone had a good Easter holiday. I really appreciated my four days off - and I didn't have to work because the shops were shut on Friday - yay for me!

I was at the pharmacy today buying some sticky plasters and on the counter they had a display of little polishes. At fist I was like 'No' I don't need any and they cant be that good for that price. But then I was talking to the lady and she said they were new in and for only $2.99 each - I relented. I got 5! And I may be going back for more. They had some neons I was quite keen on getting.

I have never heard of Miki before and googleing didn't help. There was nothing on there. The bottle says they are made in Australia.
These are mini polishes, only 7mls which is 0.23fl.oz.

Anyways this is what I got:

As far as I can tell they don't have names - just numbers on the bottom of the bottle.

BO4620 was a medium shimmer blue. I thought it was just kind of average.

This one has the flash on

BO4110 was a coral glitter. Jelly based with matching glitter. This was 2 coats, but I think it would be better as a top coat.

BO4250 is my favourite of the bunch. Its a pastel aqua-green. Here is three coats. It has a slight shimmer to it.

BO3510 yellow creme. Horrible application. It was thick and gluggy and ohhhh so streaky. Here is three coats. It was quite opaque after 2 but still very visible streaks. This polish made the brand seem cheaper to me. Although it did give good coverage for a yellow.

BO4370 this was a medium blue jelly glitter. This is pretty. Again you still have visible nail line, but this would make a nice top coat. I like it by itself, as a not out-landish, look-at-me, over-the-top blue glitter.

I've changed my mind - I think i like this colour best!

Overall the two glitter polishes had a good application, they were a good consistency and went on easily, starting to redeemed this brand in my opinion a bit after the terrible yellow.

The bottles are small and the big silver square handle is hard to use, but they have a regular size brush, which I like. Drying time on these polishes was quite quick (except for the yellow).

Its getting really cold and yucky here now. Almost no sun at all. Today its overcast and freezing and pictures are getting harder to take without the natural light. Sorry :( I'm still learning.
