Formula X for Sephora - The Celestials

These polishes look super pretty in the bottle, and in the store I had no idea that they were textured polishes - which I am not a fan of - So because they looked pretty I bought three of them.

All swatches are two coats without a topcoat, and then the same polish with a coat of Gelous and another coat of Seche Vite.  All three of these polishes look a lot more complex in the bottle with different coloured shimmer, however on the nail they fall flat and the prettiness in the bottle does not translate onto the nail.

Darling Diva Polish Zen Pool

Zen Pool is one of the more recent releases from Darling Diva Polish.

Darling Diva Polish Zen Pool - sunshine

This is three coats, and still leaves a visible nail line as it is not fully opaque.  This polish has a teal shimmer crelly base with teal micro glitter, small round teal and fuchsia glitter, medium white hexagon glitter, bigger fuchsia and white round glitters and giant white hexagon glitter.

The formula was ok, the hardest part was fishing out the bigger pieces of glitter.  Also some of the bigger bits of glitter had stuck together so when it was swiped on the nail, you ended up with multiple pieces the same.

Darling Diva Polish Zen Pool (over OPI Can't Find My Czechbook) - sunshine

I found I liked this polish much better with a base underneath.  This is two coats of Zen pool over two coats of Can't Find My Czechbook.  These two are a perfect match for each other. I wore this to work the other day and got quite a lot of comments about it.

OPI Euro Centrale Collection

I finally finished swatching the 11 of the 12 OPI Euro Centrale Collection polishes that I own.  This is my all time favourite OPI collection. I love the cremes and the shimmers, as well as the glitter. The whole collection is perfect for summer and even though it is winter here I have been getting a lot of wear out of them. I have often been wearing these polishes as bases for glitter top coats (indie ones - as you can see in some of my previous posts).

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook + Lush Lacquer Party Rockin

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook - sunshine

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook is the teal crème polish from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is three coats, but you could easily get away with two coats. It applies easily and its not streaky.  It appears dustier coloured in the bottle than it does on the nail, where is seems brighter.

Lush Lacquer Party Rockin - Shade

Lush Lacquer Party Rockin - Sunshine

This is one coat of Lush Lacquer Party Rockin over OPI Can't Find My Czechbook.  Party Rockin is a reasonably packed mixture of small orange and dark pink glitter, with bigger hexagon medium toned teal glitter and larger dark teal hexagon glitter in a clear base.  I love this mixture of colours, and I think it works well because teal/blue and orange are opposites on the colour wheel.

Unfortunately Lush Lacquer announced today on Facebook that they will be stopping international shipping at the end of Wednesday (22 March). SO RUN! NOW! and get some while you still can!

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe

I saw some swatches of Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe on Make Up Alley and had to have it straight away. Not only is it a gorgeous polish but its name is awesome. I love Cats and Schrodinger is often mentioned on The Big Bang Theory, which is my favouritest TV show ever (I am crossing all my fingers and toes that we can go to a taping of this show when we are in LA next month.)

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe is designed as a top coat.  It is two different medium sized iridescent glitters that shift from blue to aqua to green in a base full of blue/green shimmery goodness. I layered one coat over two coats of black. Here is a whole bunch of pictures for you to look at....

Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe is officially my first indie polish and I am so glad it has turned out to be a good experience.  Cathleen is the maker of Lilacquer polishes which she sells here on Etsy and also at Overall Beauty.  I have heard some not so good stories about indie polishes and their sellers, but took the chance and it turned out well.

Models Own Aqua Violet

Aqua Violet is one of the 6 original release Beetle Juice polishes from Models Own.

Models Own Aqua Violet - Natural Light

Models Own Aqua Violet - Natural Light

Models Own Aqua Violet - Natural Light

Aqua Violet is exactly what it sounds like, a shimmery duochrome polish that changes from an aqua green to a lilac purple.  This is three coats, with no top coat.  The first coat appears like a horrible sheer grey colour, but after 3 coats is opaque and shows the duochrome in the light.  It is quite a sheer polish and is on the runny side. This dried in regular time and wore well with no chips for the two days I was wearing it.

Orly Frisky

This was my mani for Wednesday and Thursday last week.

Orly Frisky - White light

This is three coats of Orly Frisky with an accent nail which had one coat of Sally Hansen Bling-tastic. Bling-tastic is a teal blue glitter with bigger bits of silver glitter scattered throughout its clear base. This lasted the full two days with out chipping, however even with a base coat Frisky stained my nails a funky yellow colour (I find that turquoise colours are the worst at staining nails).

Hope your all having a great weekend.
Don't forget to enter my nail art Give-away.

Models Own Peacock Green

This is one of my favourite polishes of 2011. I'm not sure when exactly it was released by Models Own, but I only got it this year.

Models Own Peacock Green - Natural Light

Models Own Peacock Green - Sunshine

This is three coats. It is a Green/Teal/Blue that will mesmerism you with all the beautiful colours hidden inside it. I couldn't stop staring at my nails all day when I wore this. It looks a little more green in real life (especially in the bottle).

Orly Frisky + Comparison

Orly frisky is from the 2011 Happy Go Lucky collection.

Farmers had by one get one free on Orly the other day and I had a $20 voucher so I paid $5 for two Orly polishes :) I love sales and vouchers.

Orly Frisky - Natural Light

The formula on this is great. This is 2 coats, and that it all that is needed. Dries at an average time and wears well.

I did some nail art over the top of Frisky. The Sparkles are Esseence. The first finger is stamped using an Essence plate and China Glaze DV8. Third finger is layered with Color Club Si Vous Please!

Orly Frisky + Nail Art - Sunshine

I ended up wearing Orly Frisky covered in Color Club Si Vous Please! on all fingers to work on Monday.

Orly Frisky and China Glaze For Audrey look pretty close to each other. For Audrey used three coats, compared to Frisky's one coat. For Audrey is slightly lighter and a bit more dustier toned. Frisky is brighter and bluer. I wasn't a fan of For Audrey but I really like Frisky, which is odd considering they are so close to each other.

Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver

Now I am the first to admit that I can not stand Justin Beiber. I thought he was a girl the first time I heard his song. And I don't like the idea of companies making money of his gullible young fan base with nail polishes, dolls and perfumes.

Neither the less Tina sent me My Lifesaver as a bonus in our latest swap.

Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver - White Light

I do like this polish as a colour and I am getting used to the interestingly shaped Nicole brushes. this is three coats. Its a nice creme that glides on really well. Dry time is standard.

Color Club Si Vous Please! over Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver - White Light

This is a great layering combination. Si Vous Please! is the blue glitter top coat from the Pardon my French collection. It sparkles like a rainbow over the top of My Lifesaver. I like it much better this way.

Yay for long weekends! We get Monday of this week for Queens Birthday holiday!

Color Club Age of Aquarius + Nfu Oh 55

Unfortunately over the last 4 days I haven't been able to log into blogger. Very frustrating to say the least. Luckily Chris managed to fix it all and I am back online. :)

I have already posted about Age of Aquarius at the start of the year while I was wearing fake nails. You can find this post here.

Color Club Age of Aquarius - White Light

I found Nfu Oh 55 in my untrieds. I had completely forgotten I had even bought this one. I figured it would be a good match to wear over the top of Age of Aquarius.

Nfu Oh 55 over Color Club Age of Aquarius - White Light

Nfu Oh 55 over Color Club Age of Aquarius - Shade

Nfu Oh 55 is a medium teal green flakie polish that has little bits of glitter and bigger gold/rainbow coloured flakes through out.

I found this polish a lot thinner than the other Nfu Oh flakie polishes I have. The others have sort of a thick jelly texture but this was much much runnier. This was one coat. Because of the thinness of the polish not many of the bigger gold flakes ended up on the nail, a second coat could fix this.

Hope you all had a good weekend.
