OPI Can't Find My Czechbook + Lush Lacquer Party Rockin

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook - sunshine

OPI Can't Find My Czechbook is the teal crème polish from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is three coats, but you could easily get away with two coats. It applies easily and its not streaky.  It appears dustier coloured in the bottle than it does on the nail, where is seems brighter.

Lush Lacquer Party Rockin - Shade

Lush Lacquer Party Rockin - Sunshine

This is one coat of Lush Lacquer Party Rockin over OPI Can't Find My Czechbook.  Party Rockin is a reasonably packed mixture of small orange and dark pink glitter, with bigger hexagon medium toned teal glitter and larger dark teal hexagon glitter in a clear base.  I love this mixture of colours, and I think it works well because teal/blue and orange are opposites on the colour wheel.

Unfortunately Lush Lacquer announced today on Facebook that they will be stopping international shipping at the end of Wednesday (22 March). SO RUN! NOW! and get some while you still can!

Spotted in NZ: MAC Baking Beauties

"Exquisite. Scrumptious. Utterly indulgent. The artistry of cake decoration is a world filled with tempting creation, as is our colour collection inspired by the most couture of cakes. Gorgeous shades, from Mooncake and Pistachio Crème to Pink Buttercream, transform into a succulent showcase of confections for eyes, face, lips and nails." (from the MAC website)

Kirkaldie and Stains in Wellington held an event last week in store to celebrate the release of the MAC Baking Beauties collection.  Complete with painted lady (she is supposed to look like a cake).

Picture from the Kirkaldie & Stains Facebook page

The Collection has three nail polishes:
  • Blue Velvet - Light periwinkle blue (Cream)
  • Confectionery - Light blue pink (Cream)
  • Pistachio Creme - Light teal mint (Cream)
These are not overlly unique, but I adore the baking theme.

OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? + Darling Diva Polish Baby Got Back

Vant to Bite My Neck? is another polish from the 2013 Euro Centrale Collection, which I am working my way through. This is definitely my favourite OPI collection in a long time.

OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? - Sunshine

Love this polish. This is three coats, although two is fine for this polish. Vant to Bite my Neck? is a dark purple crème  This one is interesting as it seems to be a straight purple (it doesn't really lean blue or pink toned).  I know this is from the summer collection in the Northern Hemisphere, but it is a nice winter colour for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere.

Darling Diva Polish Baby got Back (over OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?) - shade

This is one coat of Darling Diva Polish Baby got Back over OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?. Baby got Back is an awesome mix of purple, pink and teal glitters. It was hard to capture the complexity of this polish on camera.  It has teeny tiny light pink glitter, and larger hexagon pink glitter, with medium sized teal and fuchsia glitter.  The teal in this polish makes it super pretty and transforms it from just a regular pink/purple glitter.

Looks a bit weird but I was trying to capture the teal better

Have a great weekend!

OPI My Vampire is Buff + Dollish Polish Coitus

Hi everyone,
I am back from my long weekend in Sydney. We had amazing weather and did a lot of shopping. But unfortunately it was straight back to work and cold weather here for me.

These pictures were taking a few weeks ago when we actually had some sun, but I am wearing the exact same mani again today.  OPI My Vampire is Buff and Dollish Polish Coitus make a great combo.

OPI My Vampire is Buff - sunshine

OPI My Vampire is Buff - shade

This is three coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff.  It is a smooth light yellow toned nude crème polish.  I used three coats, but it is easily opaque in two.  This is a surprising favourite from the Euro Centrale collection for me, as I am not normally a fan of light nude crèmes.

Dollish Polish Coitus (over OPI My Vampire is Buff) - shade

Coitus is one of four polishes from Dollish Polishes Big Band Theory Collection that was released a few months ago.  I had a bit of trouble trying to work out what to wear underneath Coitus, but think this combo works well (hence I am wearing this combo again today).  It is a pastel glitter with light pink and blue glitter, and slightly bigger light yellow/gold glitter, all in a clear base.  This is two coats of Coitus.  Glitter coverage is a little sparse with just one coat, but two coats seems to give a good amount of coverage.

Color Club Cosmic Fate + Comparisons

Cosmic fate is the last polish I have to chow you from the 2013 Color Club Halo Hues collection.  The final three polishes in the collection are Beyond (Black), Kismet (Green) and Eternal Beauty (Purple).

Color Club Cosmic Fate - Sunshine

Color Club Cosmic Fate - Sunshine

Color Club Cosmic Fate - Shade

This is three coats, altougyh two would be perfectly adequate.  Like the other Halo Hues polishes, this has a thinner formula, that applies easily and gives good coverage.  This is a pure orange holographic. It doesnt seem too pink or too yellow, and because of that is quite unique in my collection.

And here is a comparison with all my other orange/peach holographic polishes.

It is hard to see here, but Cosmic Fate is the purest orange I have. The other polishes either lean more pink or more yellow.

I am off to Sydney tomorrow to hang out with my sister for a few days.
See you when I get back.

Color Club Miss Bliss + Comparisons

What is better, when today is absolutely pouring with rain and there is thunder and lightening, than looking at swatch pictures I took yesterday when it was so sunny you could wear holos and have rainbows on your fingers?  Actually it is kind of depressing because I know it is going to be a while before it is that sunny again.

Color Club Miss Bliss - Sunshine

Color Club Miss Bliss - shade

Miss Bliss is the medium pink holographic polish released in the second batch of Color Club Halo Hues at the start of this year.  This is three coats, but like Over the Moon yesterday, you can easily get away with two.  The formula on this is slightly on the thin side, but applies easily and dries very quickly.  Again, these polishes don't look very impressive in the shade, but in the sun they are amazing!

Here is some comparisons of my medium pink holographic polishes. Color Club Miss Bliss is clearly the most holographic.  It also gives good coverage, as you can not see through the swatch stick like you can with many of the other polishes in this picture.

Whoah Holy Holo Batman! Look at that Color Club Sparkle!

Color Club Over the Moon + Comparisons

WE HAD SOME SUN TODAY!!!!!!

Its almost winter here, and pretty unusual for us to have a sunny weekend day at the moment. (Although it is pouring with rain now).  So I figured it was time to swatch some holographic polishes.

Color Club Over the Moon - Sunshine

Color Club Over the Moon - Shade

Over the Moon is the blue holographic polish from the 2013 release of the Color Club Halo Hues. This newer set of 6 polishes, were darker than the first set released.  This is three coats, although two would be fine - I just am obsessive compulsive about doing three coats.  The formula on these are on the thin side, but are easy to apply and dry quickly.  The above photos clearly show the difference that sunlight makes to the appearance of this polish.  In the sunlight it is an awesomely strong holographic rainbow.

Below is a comparison with some of my other blue holographic polishes.
All swatches are three coats.

You can see that in the sunlight the two Color Club holos give the most coverage and are the most opaque of the polishes. Over the Moon is unique amoungst my 100 holographic polishes.

Color Club Halo Hues are available in New Zealand now.

OPI You're Such a BudaPest with Darling Diva Dangerous Driver

OPI You're Such a BudaPest - Sunshine

OPI You're Such a BudaPest is my favourite polish from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is a slightly blue toned creme lilac.  This is three coats that applied beautifully.

Darling Diva Dangerous Driver (over OPI You're Such a BudaPest) - sunshine

This is an amazing combo! A holographic polish that should exist, that I haven't managed to find in real life yet.  Dangerous Driver is not only holographic but also duochromatic and switches from purple to pink in different lights. This is one thin coat of Dangerous Driver over OPI You're Such a BudaPest.

OPI...Eurso Euro with Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy

OPI...Eurso Euro - sunshine

OPI...Eurso Euro is The dark blue crelly (creme/jelly) from the OPI Euro Centrale collection.  This is two coats and I found application very easy.  This is a great formula that glides on smoothly and gives great coverage.   This polish looks quite a bit darker inside in the shade.

This polish is a great base colour for quite a few of my polishes. I am thinking of trying Max Factor Fantasy Fire on top next.  But for the last two days I have been wearing Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy over the top.

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy (over OPI...Eurso Euro)

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy (over OPI...Eurso Euro)

Lush Lacquer Bubble Yummy is a blue toned purple shimmer with small silver holographic glitter and larger hexagon shaped teal/cyan coloured glitter.  This is one coat over OPI...Eurso Euro.  I did have a few application issues with this. In my bottle the bigger teal bits of glitter have all sunk to the bottom of the bottle, and no matter how much I shake it, I cant seem to get the glitter spread evenly throughout the polish. This mean I did have to go fishing for the bigger bits of glitter. I think this problem may be solved by adding some more stainless steal balls to my bottle.
